| The Cultural Institute was founded in 1996 because of the need for implementing numerous cultural activities. Its headquarters are located in the castle, which due to the needs of developing the central town and the commune's cultural centre took 20 years to renovate. During the last two decades the most was done in the field of restoration and protection of the main monuments in the Commune and in the formation of contents for the exhibition rooms in the Slovenska Bistrica castle. Also coming under the auspice of Cultural Institute are: the museum branch in memorial complex Osankarica, the partisan hospital Jesen and the exhibition rooms in Grassl's tower. Publishing and events are two important activities. In fifteen years it has carried out numerous renovation works on natural and cultural heritage. Tourism is also an important part of the institute’s activities. | ||
